My 750 Mile Badge Kicks Butt!

I just earned my 750 mile badge from fitbit!

I am so thrilled. It took me a while to get there. I've had some starts and stops. But since I started moving again a month ago, it's been going really great. Three miles a day, five or six days per week adds up. Then add your regular daily steps, and that's 70 - 80 miles in the past month. I didn't realize I was so close.

I love my fitbit. I just clip it on the waist of my pants in the morning and go. It tells me how many steps and miles I've walked in a day and calories burned. It does more than that, though. You can go to their website and log your food intake and monitor calories, fat, weight and other stuff as well.

It really helps to know how I'm doing, so then I can set goals for myself.

My health goal for August was to lose 10 pounds and I'm happy to say I made it! My health goal for September is to lose another 10.

I know I'm sounding like an infomercial. But no - I'm not getting paid by fitbit. I just got excited and I'm feeling motivated.

What keeps or gets you motivated?

What are your health goals for September?

Good for you! I had one of those for a while. Don't remember my total for the month I used it though.

Congrats on your achievements. That's awesome, Gwen.

I'd hate to hear how many calories I don't burn while sitting on my butt, writing. At least I do run 40 minutes everyday (or walk the same route now that I'm dealing with a broken toe).

Good luck achieving your September goal. *shakes pom poms*

I just came off four weeks of exercise break because of a knee injury. Tried riding the stationary bike yesterday for the first time. Looks like I'll be keeping the knee brace on when riding.

Awesome Gwen!

My health goal is to run twice a week consistently. I do a lot of walking so sometimes I don't run for two weeks before I realize it.

I try to schedule my runs so even if I'm not that motivated I remember to do them, haha.

Alex, one month? What happened, lol?!

Stina, 40 minutes every day is great exercise! I walk for about 45 minutes to an hour. I'm trying to work my way back into running. Hmm, the broken toe must be a bit of a problem, though.

Joshua, knee injuries can take a while. Bike riding is better than the pounding you get from walking or running, though. I'm sure you'll have to work your way back. I have a stationary bike that I'm sure I'll be using a lot once winter hits:)

Capillary, running twice a week is good. But you walk a lot, so you are getting your exercise, even if you "forget" lol!

Hi Gwen --I've never heard of this little clip. I'm intrigued and will check it out. Sounds like a great positive feedback device. I'm also very impressed with your weight loss and will have to catch up on your posts to see what kind of eating changes you're making. Yay you!!
